Thank you to Animeshare and X-Tenshi for plugging our contest. As we close in on the end of July, we approach Hyuu Designs' First Anniversary! The tournament will last until August 22nd, 2008, allowing approximately 2 weeks for each level of the tournament. There are 3 levels to this tournament and after every level, at least 1 contestant will be eliminated. Based on the entries of the first 2 stages, only the top 3 contestants will enter the last stage. Contestants will be designing the following graphics: icon/avatar, banner and layout.
You are allowed to submit up to 2 entries for this stage. All entries must have the dimensions 100x100px and must be in extensions .gif or .jpg. You are allowed to use any image as long as the image isn't pornographic (includes hentai, yuri and yaoi) or offensive (i.e. swear words). Before you submit your icon/avatar entry, you must put up the contest banner in a viewable and easily accessible area. The deadline for icon/avatar entries is July 25th, 2008.
You are allowed to submit up to 2 entries for this stage. All entries must not exceed the size 400x200px and must be in extensions .gif or .jpg. The theme for this level is Falling. You are allowed to use any image (manga, anime, game, photo) as long as the image is appropriate (read section above). You must include a quote from Starsailor's Way to Fall. The deadline for this stage is August 8th, 2008.
The winning layout will be used by Hyuu Designs for the month of September (or October). You are only allowed to submit one entry for this stage. The layout must be viewable in 800x600px screen resolution and it may only use HTML 4.0, CSS 2.0, div layers and/or tables. The layout must have a vertical and horizontal navigation area, where the horizontal one allows for drop down menus (refer to the current layout for HD). You may use any image as long as the image is appropriate (read sections above). Images may only have extensions .gif or .jpg. The theme for this level is Yesterday. You must include a quote from Carla White's Can't Say Goodbye to Yesterday, and the layout must include the words "Hyuu Designs" on the design. The deadline for this level is August 22nd, 2008.
The entries for each stage will be judged on a score out of 10 and the participant(s) with the lowest score will be eliminated. The winners for the last stage will be based on a visitor poll and the judges' score for the design. Judging will be done by myself and two other people.
