Are you missing the previous layout? I am, but I figured it was time for HD to have a new face. On the other hand, I realized that I'm no good at designing layouts with light colours and contrast. I am quite proud of myself that I didn't use any outside resources for this design, not including a pattern from Celestial Star used for one of the content headers.

I have officially successfully completed first year university and am waiting to enrol in my second year courses. Furthermore, I'm planning to stay local for the rest of the summer after my 1 month trip to China and area. Hence, I should have plenty of time to take care of my websites and be a proper webmaster, lest I procrastinate again and dwell on the pleasures of laziness.

Although I promised a large update, I've been holding off on designing graphics; therefore, this update is only of medium size. I was hoping to add some of Tamaki's contributions, but I'm still waiting for her email so I should have more additions for the next update. I was able to design a few avatars and designs during the first week back from China, but since then, I've been coding and redesigning websites in my network (my new blog should be up soon once I get mySQL running on my new host). Finding my own host and buying my own domain will have to hold off as I'm still job hunting during this recession.

As you may or may not notice, I've tweaked HD a bit. First off, I've changed the download pages such that it's more aesthetically pleasing (or so I hope) than just an image pasted on a blank page. Furthermore, I've decided to remove the site awards section from the Interactive section and I've moved the past winners to the contest's Hall of Fame section. Hence, I'd like to note that Candicell Designs is the last site to receive an award from HD. If you happen to come across any errors on HD that have come up from the tweaking, please inform me of the error through the contact form.

I've removed 3 affiliates due to inactivity for over a year or due to my affiliates closing their design sites. However, I prefer having less affiliates (it has a cozier feeling) and hence, I will not be accepting new affiliates any time soon. On the other hand, I do have a new link exchange. Please welcome Emily from Elysium Phoenix Designs to the HD family! Emily used to own Crystal Phoenix Designs, also a link exchange of Hyuu Designs and I'm very happy to see her designing again as she has amazing artistic talent.

This update seems to lack flow, but hopefully, I'll be able to get a grip of the English language again after a few more weeks of staying in Canada (my English went downhill ever since I went to China). Hopefully I'll update again in mid-July.
